Traveling Journal?

Sorry for the multiple posts but I also wanted to ask if anyone might be interested in participating in a traveling journal?

Basically, each person would get three to five pages to tell me about yourself and where your from! You can also write anything else you like and decorate it however you want. You would then mail it to the next person on the list. Or do you think a postal themed/mail themed one would be more fun?

Would anyone be interested? Let me know your thoughts?

An here is a photo of my current view! :) You can sort of see my housing neighborhood in the background!

Finally! Regular updates!

I'm actually kind of proud of myself right now, haha. Regular updating is becoming easier for me now that I'm not working six days a week (for the moment, at least!) and it also helps that for some magical reason, my body decided to wake me up at the ass-crack of dawn (aka. 4:15 am...), so I had time to get photos taken and whatnot! But before I get to that, I want to show off my baby! So, as a few of you may know, I recently acquired an iPhone 4 (Not a 4S...Siri drives me nuts, and not a 5 because well, I'm cheap. And it's too big anyways.) and I promptly ordered two cute cases for it! Little did I know, said cases were being shipped from HONG KONG! Apparently, I need to read the fine print on things. Once again, excitement got the best of me! Anyways, after a few weeks, they came, and I elected to use the less outrageous one (ie. the one that wasn't an entire Hello Kitty body...) and here it is!

Isn't it cute?! And the right ear acts as the top clicky button so when I want to turn on the screen, I clip it's ear! And as you can tell by the first background and second inner background, I have serious issues.

And before we get onto the mail aspect of this post, I wanted to get some feedback from you guys. What do you think of doing an organized group swap? I was thinking of starting out easy and organizing a music swap, perhaps? Like a mixed CD-type thing? I need new music and I love checking out what other people listen to! Opinions? We'd include a CD, a list of the songs/artists, and a decorated case/sleeve and mail it off to one or two partners? What do you guys think?

Also, since I managed to neglect the winner of my monstermango giveaway, I am announcing it now! Chosen randomly using a generator...the winner is...

BREE!

On to the mail! Outgoing first! It's my day off, so I'm planning on writing quite a few more! I'm going to have to type a few, though, because my hand is kiiiiiiilling me! So hopefully those of you who get a typed letter won't mind! I promise to make them as pretty as possible!

OH! And where do you guys get your brown 'kraft' paper envelopes? I've been having such a hard time finding them at a good price and I can't order off Etsy at the moment due to PayPal issues!

OKAY! NOW I'm going to show you my mail! Sorry, that was kind of rambly, but I may or may not have had far too much coffee!

First off, a care package of stationary to one of my very, very good friends who is spending a semester in Costa Rica. She was running out of stationary (I hooked her on letter writing!), so i thought I'd replenish her supply a bit!

Next is to Miss. Helen in England! Love her!

And last outgoing is to Hannah in England! :)

Now for the incoming! Weee!

A wonderful letter from Konstantina in Greece! I should've taken a photo of the perdy backside of the envelope!

Neato stamp, right?

Next is from Miss. Court, who incidentally grew up only 10 or 15 miles away from where I live!

A lovely puppy-fied letter from Teresa full of tons of info on Baby Myles!

Next is from Debbie in Scotland! :D

And next up is an amazing (as always!) letter and pressie from Kiki! (Which reminds me, must send money for jewellery! haha.)

Stamps! I thought about getting these but then I changed my mind...maybe I will when I go to the post office this morning...

How cute is this deco tape? Seriously, I have never seen better packaging!

The letter...equally as cute!

And the extras! HOW CUTE ARE THESE STICKERS! Sorry they're tilted, lol. She magically knew that I love raised stickers, haha. And she sent me a Moomin card, so I'm sending her a special one back! :D

Now for the fun jewellery! Sooo...I'm kind of addicted to her work. Seriously. I have a problem. I need monstermango anonymous. But remember how I posted about the macaroon earrings she sent me the other day? I forgot to post a photo of the cute little acrylic container they came in, so here it is! And yes, that is, in fact, PINK BUBBLE WRAP.

So yeah, there's that, but here is what she sent me yesterday! BOWS! Tiny BOW stud earrings! I'm kind of addicted to stud earrings right now since they're more practical with work and yeah, like I said, I have a problem. Haha. How cute is the container? Washi take AND Rilakkuma AND a 'K'?!

P.S. Are you guys not TOTALLY stoked for Love Letters?! I can't wait to get my email with my partners!

Guess what? Time for new mail!

I haven't gotten much mail lately and of course, I managed to forget what I was sending out, BUT I have photo's nonetheless! How have you all been? Is Fall starting to rear it's head where you are? It certainly isn't over here! It's supposed to be in the 90's for the next week! BOO! I want rain so bad! It hasn't rained since June for the most part. It's killing me! :( Anywho, let's get these photos out so ya'll (when did I go Southern?) don't have to look at snakes! Haha. Here we go!

Outgoing to Vi! Getting a bit more into some simply mail art!

My last outgoing that I managed to photograph...a handmade postcard to Hannah in England, who I haven't heard from after my reply to her letter...I'm hoping I have her address correct! I used my Hermes for the label! :D I took this photo before it was completely finished, though. I stuck a few foreign cancelled stamps onto it afterwards!

Next, one from Sav!

How cute is this stationary?! And she sent me an air mail envie! For all of you who don't know, I LOVE AIR MAIL ENVELOPES! I'm always so stoked to find one in a letter that I can use for my letter-writing! :D And the sweetheart used her best stationary for my letter! I adore her!

Next is from Lady Helen! And she sent me a picture her son Dylan drew me, but I like to keep those bits private. :)

Next is a lovely package from Arwen! She sent me a Sottish flag magnet for my collection! :D

And next up is something fun! A letter from Kiki with an AMAZING package of goodies! She knows me so well and knows that I often where TONS of blue/turquoise to work! You guys should REALLY check out her shop! She just a lot of custom stuff as well but her work is absolutely fantastic! I'm currently designing a business card design for her! :D

Her packaging is absolutely GORGEOUS and it always is! She always amazes me!

Her items are always so carefully packages! PINK BUBBLE WRAP!!!

I managed to not take a photo of the cute little circular acrylic box she sent the ring in (ugh!) but here is what she sent!

A chocolate ring:

And then macaroon earrings! All in blue! She sent me quite a few pairs and basicvally...I freaked out over them, haha. But my iPhone wouldn't focus on them for some reason, so I'm going to have to take her photos from her store! (Credit to Karola!). My favorite were a pair of heart shaped macaroons, but I couldn't find a photo of them in earring-form, so you'll have to sort of imagine it from a photo of a heart macaroon in ring form!

And thennnnn.......she sent me matching blue round macaroon earrings! AMAZING, right?!

Today is my day off, so I think I might spend it replying to a few letters and then perhaps crafting a few collage postcards and folding some new envelopes! I discovered one of my hidden vintage music books, so I guess it's time to get folding!

Oh, and lastly, I am official! Officially a supervisor! Here's my shiny new store key! YAY!

Love Letters!

So, today, I wanted to post about something fun going down right now! A 'Lovely Letters' project hosted by Kitty And Buck!

Honestly, it is all a really fantastic idea! I signed up for it ASAP and the 27th is your LAST day to sign up!

So here is a bit about everything! (thank from K&B!)

If you are interested, this is how it will work:

1. You need to commit to sending 4 letters over an 8 week period. We will assign partners and you will share letters back and forth for the duration of the project. Only sign up if you can commit to sending the 4 letters, nobody wants to miss out on receiving some lovely letters!

2. Each fortnight we will post a new project which will tell you the theme of that fortnight's exchange.

3. At the end of the letter exchange, you have the option to take part in a package exchange too, just in time for Christmas! This part is optional, but so much fun!

4. The exchange is open internationally, we will try to pair you with someone in your area to keep postage costs to an absolute minimum for you.

Also, there is an optional package section too!

I held something interesting last night!

Ugh, I wish I had gotten a photo, but I couldn't! But last night, I held my ex-boyfriend's...wait for it...

Yellow Anaconda!

I know what most of you are saying..."EWWWW!" But seriously, it was probably the most gorgeous snake I have ever held! Like I said, I would've taken photos, but this species can be extremely unpredictable and I wasn't quite willing to upset it! I've been bitten by several species of snakes, but I wasn't sure if they were 'latchers' or 'strikers'. A lot of constrictor species will latch on and not let go, but a lot of them just strike, mostly out of fear, but they also simply strike and that doesn't hurt much! Kind of like a few shots. Anyways, I wanted to show off a few photos of these guys just so you can see how beautiful they are! In the states, you will only see them in captivity as they are native to South America.

These guys don't get as large as the green anaconda, but they get big! They get over 11 feet in length and can weigh up to 80 pounds, sometimes larger!

Awe, look at those faces!

I know they look terrifying, but I like to at least show reptiles and share my experiences so that people somewhat lose their nervousness towards them. They actually remind me of puppies for some reason, and a lot of the more calm species, such a ball pythons (one of the most common pet snakes out there.) have such sweet dispositions! Sweeter and more docile than any animal I have ever seen! Anywho, yup! That's what I got to do last night! :D

Now be honest, would you be able to resist this face? Haha.

Well, hello there, terrible photos!

Obviously, my photos aren't the greatest here, but I wanted to show you guys some of the mail I've sent recently! I've really got to step up my mail are game as it's getting quite boring, but I'm very slowly investing in supplies! Just need some more tape, some cute punches, and some stamps! I'm thinking of going out and trying to find some hand-carving stuff, but I only really want basic shapes. I dunno, we'll see! I can't ever seem to stray from my kawaii stationary! Anywho, here they are! Also, expect some typewriter-ing soon! I'm going to buy a new ribbon for my Smith-Corona and for my Hermes 3000 this paycheck! YAY!
